AMY’S FRAUD EARMARK
Amy Klobuchar earmarked over $1 million to a "nonprofit" founded by the brother of a convicted ISIS supporter
While Minnesotans are working to tackle our fraud crisis, Amy Klobuchar made it worse.
Amy co-signed Ilhan Omar’s request for a $1.46 million federal earmark for a nonprofit that lists its address at a Somali restaurant on Cedar Avenue. The three directors share the same unit as their home address.
It gets worse: The brother of one of the nonprofit’s founders was convicted of providing material support to ISIS. Senator Joni Ernst’s office caught the red flags before the money went out, and House Republicans stripped the earmark from the spending bill. Senator Ernst and Senator Mike Lee have since sent a formal letter to the Department of Justice asking federal authorities to investigate the “nonprofit.”
